It's Tuesday. Deadline Thursday. You need to parse a CSV with inconsistent delimiters, handle UTF-8 encoding issues, skip malformed rows, and map columns to a schema that keeps changing.

You could spend three days building it. Or you could search a registry, check the issues, and pip install the right library in 12 seconds. It works. On the first try. The edge cases you hadn't thought of? Already handled.

And then at 11 PM you feel that imposter syndrome: "I didn't build this. I assembled it."

Here's the truth: Every library you imported is someone else's six months of pain compressed into one line of requirements.txt. They debugged the edge cases at 2 AM. They read the RFCs. They took years of struggle and delivered it to you in seconds.

Importing a library isn't cheating. It's the most fundamental act of engineering — standing on completed work so you can solve problems that haven't been solved yet.
